Gertrude Stone Brooks was born in Tacoma, WA on May 25, 1900.  By 1905 she lived in San Francisco.  She studied at the CSFA, CCAC, and with Armin Hansen in Monterey.  In the 1920s she had married William Brooks and was living in Santa Cruz, CA. Between 1939 and 1942 she traveled from Sonoma to San Diego to create a set of etchings of the 21 missions. Mrs. Brooks died in San Francisco on May 3, 1978  I have 15 of her prints that will be available and each has the personal notes of Mrs Brooks on when she did the original drawing and when it was printed.
